Fine Arts Ministry

At Second Church, we believe art is a powerful way to build community and draw closer to God. Whether creating or experiencing art, the Fine Arts Ministry invites reflection, inspiration, and gratitude for God’s divine gifts.

  • Spiritual Practice: Creating and viewing art becomes a way to seek God’s voice and respond in worship.
  • Community Building: Art fosters connection and celebrates the beauty of God’s creation.
  • Opportunities: Participate in exhibits, art-making, and more.

The Fine Arts Ministry is guided by our Fine Arts Advisory Team, a group of artists and church members dedicated to integrating art into the life of our church.

Call for Art: The Eighth Day of Creation All-Church Art Exhibit

Accepting submissions now through October 2.

Are you called to create works of art to the glory of God? Artists of all ages within our church community are invited to submit their work for the annual The Eighth Day of Creation art exhibit, presented by the Fine Arts Advisory Team. Whether you paint, sculpt, take photos, or work with textiles, we want to showcase your gifts!

Volunteer Opps

Exhibit Exchange Volunteer

Approximately every six weeks, our art exhibits move in and out of McFarland Hall, with the help of our amazing volunteers. No experience is needed. We will simply be removing art from the walls and hanging the new ones. Feel free to bring a friend.

Second Thoughts Anthology

A beloved collection of original stories, poetry, devotions, and testimonials written by members and friends of Second.

Volume 4 is now available in brochure racks at the church while supplies last. Thank you to our contributing writers!

Mosaic Project

The finished mosaic was dedicated on June 16, 2024, and can be viewed in the North alcove of McFarland Hall.
